BloggerMyles Draws His Six-shooter, And...

Just to start this new blog, here follows my background, so that you can get a sense of who I am. Rather than shooting my mouth off about either of my own passions: taijiquan and acting, I would like to speak of meaningful political and societal issues. Nevertheless, I will try to respond to useful contacts in acting and interesting discussion about taiji. But, as I mentioned, here's my background in my own two fields of endeavor ...
Born in London, England, during its saddest, yet most magnificent, hours. Practices and teaches taijiquan (t'ai chi ch'uan). His practice started in 1968 under the guidance of William C.C. Chen, and he started teaching in 1973. His instructors in the direct lineage of Yang Chengfu have been: Cheng Man-ch'ing (Zheng Manqing), William C.C. Chen, Ben Lo, and Alex Dong (Tung Dade). His other main instructors were John Chung Li (liuhebafa quan), B.P. Chan (bagua, xingyi, Chen style taijiquan, Qigong, and taiji ruler). Myles has also taken instruction, via workshops and classes, in Chen Style taiji, bagua zhang, xingyi quan (hsing yi chuan) and iliquan, from the following instructors: Chen Zhenglei, Park Bok Nam, Jiang Jianye, Sam Chin, Luo Dexiu, Gao Jiwu, Wang Haijun, and Adam Mizner. His most recent instructor is Mr. Wang Fengming in Chen style taijiquan (Hun Yuan syllabus) and Cheng style baguazhang.
Myles MacVane is an actor. He studied acting in New York City with Max Slater (protégé of Otto Preminger), and at the Henry Street Settlement School of the Theatre. In Connecticut, Myles studied with William Stewart (of the Stratford Connecticut Shakespeare Theatre) at the University of Bridgeport.
